The Diana Award

Leicester Grammar Junior School works with The Diana Award in training Year 6 pupils to become Anti-Bullying Ambassadors. Their mission is to share the anti-bullying message and to work alongside pastoral staff in offering support to pupils within our community.

We are proud to be associated with a charity set up in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, a person who changed the lives of many and who believed that young people have the power to change the world. Our anti-bullying work encourages change in attitudes and behaviours for young people by young people, to make our community a better place.

United Against Bullying Programme

Leicester Grammar Junior School has been awarded 'United Against Bullying SILVER  School status' in recognition of our work to reduce bullying and improve well-being for pupils. Of the 296 schools which completed the programme this year, 11% achieved Gold, 24% Silver, and 55% Bronze.

The United Against Bullying programme is the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s free whole-school anti-bullying programme. It supports schools to reduce bullying and improve the well-being of all children.

Every November Leicester Grammar Junior School takes part in Anti-Bullying Week. It is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on bullying and to consider the steps we can take together to stop bullying.

The theme for Anti-Bullying Week 2024 is ‘Choose Respect’. As a parent or carer, you are a vital piece of the puzzle in tackling bullying. You have a unique role to play in guiding and supporting your child through their school years and there are lots of positive steps you can take to help keep your child safe from bullying and harm.

If your child is being bullied there is support available to help you stay calm and to take the right action. You can find advice from the Anti-Bullying Alliance using the link below. Additionally, you should always share your concerns with a member of staff in school. The first point of contact will usually be the class teacher, but Mrs Strong (Deputy Head Pastoral) is also available to meet with you.
