Head Prefects

2024 - 2025: Evelyn Bedenham and Aarush Patel
Head Prefects have specific duties to perform on special occasions.

House System

Starting in Year 2, pupils are assigned to one of four houses: St. Andrews (Blue), St. Mary's (Yellow), St. Cuthberts (Red), and St. Giles (Green). Each house is led by a House Captain, as well as a Music Captain and a Sports Captain, fostering leadership and teamwork amongst pupils.

Siblings are always placed in the same house.

School Council

The Junior School Council consists of elected representatives from each class in Years 3 to 6. They meet regularly to share ideas and feedback from their classmates, helping to determine a key focus for each term—such as organising fundraising initiatives for new playground equipment. Each councillor is responsible for keeping their class updated on progress and decisions made by the council, ensuring that all voices are heard and involved in the process.

Friends of LGJS

The Friends Association is a group of volunteer parents and teachers who concern themselves with social events and raising money for school projects. Examples of fund-raising activities include a Christmas Fair, Treasure Hunt, Diwali Evening, Quiz Night, Summer Ball.

The association also supports and provides valuable assistance at many other school events such as open days.
