IGNITE
The IGNITE Sports Programme
What is the IGNITE Sports programme?
LGJS PE Department want every child to get the right level of support to maximise their potential throughout their school life and beyond. We ensure that any pupil who is involved in sport at a high level outside school has been credited. We also ensure that pupils in Years 3 – 6 are recognised under the following the criteria.
Throughout the year these selected pupils will be given the opportunity to be involved in various activities and sessions aimed at developing their holistic sporting ability – both mentally and physically.
Potential areas to be included are:
- Sports Nutrition, Psychology and recovery
- Targeted interventions with fitness during lessons throughout the year
- Encouragement (possible requirement) to play for a sports club(s) outside of school
- Discussion group surrounding the 5 capabilities, on how to live and breathe them.
- Fundamental skill clinics for various sports
- Used to meet and greet visiting schools and teams
- Used as ambassadors during the KS1 and Foundation Stage sports days on Sports Week.
